L.A. Raid

'The robber is waking up,' a voice says.


There are lots of police in the bank. There is a policewoman in front of me. I'm lying on the floor near the empty safe. Ma hands are tied with rope.

'I'm not a lobber,' I say. 'I'm a private detective.'

But next morning the newspapers say:

SAMUEL ARRESTED. IS PRIVATE DETECTIVE A BANK ROBBER?

RAIDERS ESCAPE. PRIVATE DETECTIVE LOSES HIS JOB.
